A little bit about Room Four Conference Venue…
Room Four was set up on the 4th July 2001 by experienced Catering Manager, Wendy Gray; a date which has since been affectionately nicknamed ‘Wendy’s Independence Day’ by friends and family.
Housed in a beautiful building created in 1869 (the same year Heinz Tomato Sauce was established), the entire Room Four team have worked hard to create a homely atmosphere for guests to feel comfortable and relaxed, but motivated and inspired.
Based in the heart of the North West, we provide high quality, fresh and home-cooked food and you can always expect to be greeted by staff with a warm smile and professional courtesy.
Many of our guests are referrals or repeat customers and many have been with us since our grand opening in 2001; they come back again and again for the home from home atmosphere, convenient location and impressive hearty food and refreshments (we even have a bar!)
As proud finalists in the Wigan Business Awards (sponsored by Manchester Chamber of Commerce) and Members of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association, the team have very strict (and very high standards) to meet (which we do, every day with a smile on our face).
Before opening Room Four Conference Venue, Wendy spent seven years working for Whitbread Pub Partnerships, during which time she gained heaps of experience, skills and knowledge of the hospitality and events industry.
Feeling under-utilised in her role as a Catering Manager and with a chance discovery of a homely old pub built in 1869, Wendy decided to take a huge leap of faith, quit her stable day job and open up a business which could combine all of her skills.
After four months of hard graft and refurbishment, Room Four Conference Venue was born.
If you ask anyone about Wendy, they’ll describe her as a real asset to any team, event or special occasion; her bright and bubbly presence is infectious and she’s always willing to get stuck in and go the extra mile for her clients.
Passionate about charity work and the community, Wendy has raised thousands of pounds for Wigan and Leigh Hospice and Macmillan – both organisations very close to her heart.
Wendy is one of the main reasons that people keep coming back to Room Four.
